Pedro Lagoa is a visual artist whose recent work centres mostly around specific concepts of destruction. He studied at the Advanced Visual Arts Studies program at Maumaus, Lisbon, and later graduated from the HfBK Städelschule, in Frankfurt am Main.
His practice encompasses a diversity of media including, but not limited to, installation, sound, video, drawing or publications.
Lagoa is the founder of the archive of destruction, which had its first public presentation in London in 2007, and has since been developing in an open and organic way.
His work received support from Frankfurt Kulturamt and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and has been exhibited internationally in diverse places across Europe, in Asia and the US.
